Event 'Shaping the energy transition in the Euregion using sustainable hydrogen' + matchmaking sessions

During this energy tranistion event on Friday the 21st of October at the Brightlands Chemelot campus in Geleen, various speakers will talk about the opportunities of hydrogen for numerous parties in the Euroregion in general and Dutch-Limburg in particular. Next to that LIOF will facilitate matchmaking so you will have plenty of  opportunities to meet Euregional parties active in the field of hydrogen!

Morning program
In the morning we will introduce some key concepts and discuss the vision and mission of this transition. Then we will explore Strenghts & Weaknesses, Threats & Opportunities with key players from Industry, Authorities, Knowledge Institutions and the Citizenry. We will end part 1 , the morning, with first high level agreements on what the players of the so called quadruple helix (Industry, Authorities, Knowledge institutions and the Citizenry) can and will do.

During this part we will also launch the Waterstof Coalitie Limburg (Hydrogen Coalition Limburg) and highlight some of the projects it already started, including the EMR Hydrogen Booster that is being developed in collaboration with 7 other EMR organisations (more about that in the afternoon). This part of the event will be in Dutch.

Afternoon program
After lunch, we zoom out to the Euroregion and focus on the opportunities specifically for businesses. We will discuss the Interreg project EMR Hydrogen Booster and highlight the hydrogen projects to which companies can subscribe. We will also discuss finance sources. It is also possible to get further acquainted with the hydrogen players in the Euregion through matchmaking.

What hydrogen projects will there be?
Within the Interreg EMR Hydrogen Booster, we are looking for enthusiastic parties to join the following projects, but new initiatives are also welcome:
1. Developing and setting up a hydrogen Hub (Living Lab, test and demo centre) at Avantis (Heerlen-Aachen).
2. A bus connection with hydrogen buses between Maastricht-Aachen and Liège with associated infrastructure such as refuelling stations and generation.
3. Hydrogen generation (electrolyser) at Saint Gobain and waste heat use in residential area Herzogenrath.
4. Hydrogen for inland navigation within the EMR, tank-infra, conversion of ships and bunkering.

The event starts at 9am and lasts until 4pm. Please register via the link below.
